Carol has been active in the Erie childbirth community since since 2003, first as a doula and then as a childbirth educator in private practice. She has been featured in the Erie Times News "Her Times" and has been quoted by the Erie Times in various articles. Carol is passionate about instilling confidence in the natural process of birth, and feels blessed to find a "job" that she considers to be a calling.
As a mother of two, Carol has experienced the joys of natural childbirth, but respects the individual choices women make for their birth with regards to pain management. As a member of ICEA, she believes in the role of the childbearing family in playing an active role in their birth and ICEA’s motto of "freedom of choice based on knowledge of alternatives".
Carol is trained and certified as a childbirth educator by the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA), trained and certified as a Hypnobabies Certified Hypnosis Instructor, trained and certified as a doula through DONA International, and is a member of the Lake Erie Association of Doulas (LEAD) and participates in the Erie Chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network.
