the Instructor
Carol
has been active in the Erie childbirth community since since 2003, first as a doula
and then as a childbirth educator in private practice. She has been
featured in the Erie Times News "Her Times" and has been quoted by the
Erie Times in various articles. She is passionate about instilling
confidence in the natural process of birth, and feels blessed to find a
"job" that she considers to be her calling.
As a mother of two, Carol has experienced the joys of natural childbirth, but
respects the individual choices women make for their birth with regards to pain
management. As a member of ICEA, she supports the role of the childbearing
family in playing an active role in their birth and ICEA’s motto of "freedom of
choice based on knowledge of alternatives".
Carol Peterson is trained and certified as a childbirth educator by the International
Childbirth Education Association (ICEA), is trained and certified as a doula
through DONA International, and is a member of the Lake Erie
Association of Doulas (LEAD). Carol is committed to helping a woman and her
partner achieve the ideal birth, as they define it.
